FFXIV: Stormblood How to Level Up and Get EXP Fast
In FFXIV: Stormblood, getting your first job from level 60 to level 70 can be quite the grind. There’s millions of EXP to get, and just going through the motions with the main quest doesn’t quite bridge the gap. Plus, if you want to get a second job from 60 to 70, you’ll need alternate ways to level up since obviously there won’t be a main quest to get you there anymore.
It might be, and if you've got a group of 4 that is all on the same page and ready to do that, I'd be interested to see how quick you go! It is worth noting though that the amount of experience from the later floors is greater, significantly so, and 41-50 is a lot, to the point of being a full (or just under) level in the high 30s. Hello, I was wondering something about Palace of the dead because I heard in some threads here that it is the way to go if you are DPS. When I ask my guildmates they say that all XP earned in that dungeon was only for that dungeon so I am confused: Can you level a class in palace of the damned.
Luckily, there a number of reliable ways to level up and get EXP fast in FFXIV: Stormblood. Let’s break them down.
Level 60 and Up (First Job)
Once you’re at level 60, definitely start working the main quest of FFXIV: Stormblood. This will be a very reliable source of EXP, and plus (obviously), it will unlock the end game content that you’re working toward anyway. As mentioned earlier, it doesn’t quite bridge the gap neatly as there will be times where the main quest outpaces your EXP gain and you’ll have to level up first before continuing the quest. As of the game’s launch, there are a couple of ways to get the experience points that you need.
First, Palace of the Dead is still somewhat viable at this level, but it really starts to take a hit once you reach 60. You’re much better off going for the new and improved FATEs that were updated with the launch of Stormblood in the new areas. Not only were FATEs a good way to level up (if there are people around) to begin with, but now FATEs will be adjusted more effectively to account for how many people are in the area doing them, and they also now have a chance to spawn a special enemy and give you the Twist of Fate bonus upon taking them down. With the Twist of Fate bonus, you’ll get even more EXP while you have its effect.
If you don’t like FATEs, or there isn’t anyone around to do them with, dungeon spamming is your next best bet. Simply queue up for the highest one available to you and wait for it to begin. You should still probably do FATEs in the meantime unless you feel like being lazy. Keep in mind that if you’re a DPS class, the wait times could be brutal, so really consider supplementing your wait times with either FATEs, or side quests which are great for quickly getting a tiny bit of EXP needed to keep moving things along in the main quest. Instead of waiting around for a queue, or FATE hunting, just bang out a side quest or two, or three, if that’s all you need and get back to pushing through the main quest. Another valid option (especially for DPS) is queuing up for PvP such as Frontlines, this gives pretty solid EXP and will likely have shorter wait times.
Finally, if you’re waiting for a queue or messing around with FATEs, also have a stack of clan veteran hunt marks handy from Kugane. While it’s not the most effective way to get EXP, you can certainly complete them while doing things like FATEs which are, plus you’ll also gain seals that you can trade in for valuable items.
If you’re just wondering how to get from 60-70 quick, that should have you covered. If you’re wondering on how to get to level 60 as fast as possible, or are working on your second job from 60-70, page two of this guide will explain that.

FFXIV: Stormblood How to Level Up and Get EXP Fast
Level 60 and Under
If you’re just starting Final Fantasy XIV for the first time (or are working on RDM or SAM) and happened to stumble upon this guide and want to get up to the Stormblood content as quick as you can, then what you should do is get a character up to level 17 and begin the quest for Palace of the Dead located in New Gridania. The Palace of the Dead is now one of the, if not the fastest, way to get a character up to level 60. Players that have been on long breaks and missed this content should definitely give it a try. This entry from the FFXIV Wiki is a good starting place to learn what to expect in Palace of the Dead.
Aside from that, running dungeon roulettes and spamming whatever dungeon is the highest available to you is still a valid source of experience points as well, especially if you’re leveling up a tank and healer since the wait times won’t be as long. FATEs, if you can find players to run them, also aren’t a bad way to get EXP, and in the very low levels like 10-20s, strategically running levequests that are close to each other can also get you experience pretty fast. You can also go back and find level appropriate side quests to take out for a quick burst.
Level 60 and Up (Second Job)
Without the main quest, you might think that leveling up is significantly harder in FFXIV: Stormblood, but it’s really not as bad as you would think thanks to the armory bonus. The armory bonus gives you a 50% EXP bonus to jobs that are not your highest from levels 60-70. So while the main quest is out of the picture at this point, everything else is significantly boosted.
Dungeon roulettes and spamming the highest one you have are much more effective with everything having a 50% bonus. If that gets boring, try to go around and complete every side quest you can. Unless you’re that person who hates exclamation points and clears them up as soon as possible, you should have plenty left over. Run around the new Stormblood areas and complete every one that you can.
At some point in the future, the development team might add something new that could replace any of these. But for now, at launch, these are your best options in FFXIV: Stormblood. Good luck out there!

Hello, I was wondering something about Palace of the dead because I heard in some threads here that it is the way to go if you are DPS. When I ask my guildmates they say that all XP earned in that dungeon was only for that dungeon so I am confused:
Can you level a class in palace of the damned and keep the XP and level you earned or is it that you pick a job outside of the dungeon and the XP you earned inside the dungeon is given to the Job you have outside the dungeon? I don't know if I phrased my question so you guys understand, hopefully you will
